New York: Random House, 1937
8vo, pp. 68. Original brown boards, lettered in gilt to front panel and spine. Contemporary ownership signature to ffep., some light age-toning to preliminaries, otherwsie a near fine copy in a very good dustwrapper, spine ends chipped, some wear to corners.
First US edition. The contemporary ownership signature reads 'The Bishop of Quebec', which would make it the Most Rev. Philip Carrington's copy.
The UK edition appeared three months earlier with the title Look Stranger! Auden had not been consulted, and berated Faber for coming up with something that sounded like 'the work of a vegetarian lady novelist'. It was duly changed for the US edition.
