First edition, LENGTHILY INSCRIBED BY ARTHUR ASKEY TO MARY WILSON, WIFE OF THEN PRIME MINISTER HAROLD WILSON: 'To Mrs. Wilson -- in case you miss an episode on the radio -- force yourself to read this. And please thank the P.M. for inviting me to the party last night. Much enjoyed by the "Big-hearted" AUTHOR Arthur Askey 1975.'
Arthur Askey [1900-1982] was a permanent fixture on British stage, screen and radio for most of the twentieth century, impervious to changing times, trend and attitudes, whose career began in the days of vaudeville and ended at the advent of alternative comedy. Harold Wilson [1916-1995] served two terms as Prime Minister, between 1964 and 1970, and again between 1974 and 1976.
