New York: N.p., 1912
Company cheque, hand-dated Sept. 4th 1912, made out to Seth Moyle, and signed by him on reverse. Age-toned, but beautifully preserved.
HANDWRITTEN CHEQUE TO WODEHOUSE'S NEW YORK AGENT SETH MOYLE IN THE SUM OF THIRTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS, PAYMENT FOR THE PUBLICATION RIGHTS TO THE LITTLE NUGGET FOR MUNSEY'S MAGAZINE. SIGNED BY MOYLE ON REVERSE.
Seth Moyle was Wodehouse's second US literary agent, after Abe Baerman. Baerman had proved less than trustworthy; Moyle was not much of an improvement, but he did at least have '...this extraordinary knack of fast-talking an editor into a story.' (Jasen, p.44). The Little Nugget appeared complete in the August 1913 issue of Munsey's Magazine.
