A Catalogue Of Works By Sir John Betjeman

London: Warren Editions, 1983

Tall 8vo, unpaginated. Original pink boards, poet's initials in red to front panel, light blue dustwrapper, lettered in dark blue to front panel. Leading edge uncut. A little fading to spine and rear panel, otherwise a fine copy.

First edition. No. 23 of 380 copies, one of 80 SIGNED BY BETJEMAN AND THE BOOK'S THREE ILLUSTRATORS. With an introduction by Philip Larkin. Laid in is a TLS from Jonathan Gili of Warren Editions to the volume's original purchaser, apologising for the delay in supplying it.

The catalogue of the Betjeman collection of Ray Carter, Under-Secretary of State for Northern Ireland in the 1970s, which was exhibited at St. Paul's School, London, in 1983.

The hitherto unpublished poem is Dawlish, and appears at the end of the catalogue accompanied by a Glynn Boyd Harte illustration.

A lovely copy.
