First edition of the photographer's first book. Preface by René Grousset, text by the art historian (and Le Prat's husband) Philippe Stern.

Violinist-turned-photographer Thérèse Le Prat [1895-1966] published several suites of photographic portraits, mostly of theatre actors of the period. This is her first collection, and features studies of Jean-Louis Barrault, Arletty, Madeleine Renaud and Marcel Marceau, among many others.
